OpenCMS
This is an open source application with no licensing fees. It is based on the java progamming language and can run on Linux or Windows platforms. It provides a low level interface built on java as a starting point for coding.

RedDot Content Management Server
This is a commercial package that runs on a Windows platform. It is different than the other systems here because it provides a more visual interface where building blocks are chained together. It is also unique in that the system can be set where authors work off of one machine while the finished site is served up from another.

Microsoft Content Management Server 2002
This is a commercial package that runs on a Windows operating system. It provides a low level programming interface based on the Microsoft .NET platform. Development involves adding custom code to implement templates.

Ektron Content Management Server
This is an inexpensive commercial package that runs on a Windows platform. This package also provides a programming interface for developers to use as a starting point.
